The Watery Cycle of the Lagu Rune

The Cycle of Lagu is a slow and weak rising, followed by a powerful and swift fall. Its climbing phase is anticlimactic to its hurtling plummet. One might think of water trickling from a spring to feed a stream, which then becomes a plunging waterfall. The falling is the important part of the cycle. Speed, momentum and velocity are words that come to mind when describing it.

We see water in the everyday world falling inexorably until it “finds its own level.”

On a poetic level, the falling of water betokens an insatiable desire that will only be quenched by finding its final destination. Water seeks its place and will not be placated by anything else. I am reminded of the search for truth. Water’s truth is its level, and it will accept nothing less. While this may or may not have a strong correlation to the cycle of the Lagu Rune itself, it is an adjunct thought worthy of consideration.
