Eh Rune: Horse Rune Cycle

The cycle of Eh is like a “leapfrog.” The front pulls and the back pushes. It is a process with all parts working at once. Beginning, middle and end all operate together, like a continuous assembly line.

Another way to look at it is in the rolling of a tracked vehicle, such as a tank. The tracks roll around in a continuous process of beginning – middle – end. The idler wheel is at the front of the process. Bogie wheels and return rollers stand at the center. In the rear is the cogged driver wheel. These wheels spin continuously, each staying in place while the track itself rolls in continuous cycles. One of the things involved in the Eh Rune is the process. No matter how many stages a process takes, it can be divided into beginning, middle and end. The extra stages fit into one or another of the three stages.

A running horse is another symbol of the cycle. It begins by pulling forward with its forelegs. Next, all four legs leave the ground as the forelegs are done pushing while the rear legs are drawn upward. This drawing of the rear legs “loads” them like a spring, for in the final stage they hit the ground and push, thrusting the horse forward.

Consider the connection of cycles and processes as described by the Eh Rune
