Memorial Day
The scene in front of our Legion post today was something to see. There was every kind of uniform. Our crew wore black Legion jackets and caps. The Marine Corp league was evident in red shorts and hats. There were folks in Army, Navy, Marine and Air Force uniforms. There stood a small crowd of present and former military men and women. These are the warriors gathered to honor the fallen.
There are many types of honor. I had the honor of participating today with my Legion post. We were part of a memorial ceremony. We gave the 21 gun salute. We also marched in the parade. We do this in remembrance of those who gave their lives for the people and the nation. We also do it to remind all that freedom is not free.
That is me on the right. We are marching to the ceremony.
