Deliberate and Intentional

Yesterday we discussed Heathen Time as opposed to Pagan Time. Heathen Time means getting there early. “If you arrive on time, you are ten minutes late by Heathen Time.” Pagan Time is a matter of intentionally showing up late. It is an act of laziness. In contrasting these two, we see the difference between living deliberately and floating aimlessly.

Life is like a boat flowing on the river of Wyrd. The question we need to ask is: “Do we want to choose our course, or flow with the current?

Do we want to deliberately select a course? Is our living intentional? Or are we going to coast all our lives, ending up wherever we are sent? Granted, we can all flow with the current now and then, but it is up to us to choose a course. Wafting and coasting leave the course to chance. This is like Heathen Time and Pagan Time. On Heathen Time, we deliberately get there early so as to take the best advantage of a situation. Pagan Time floats in late, losing any initiative.

Living deliberately means living successfully. You are the captain of your ship and the master of your fate when you make the choices. This is far better than leaving everything to whim and caprice. A life that chooses no direction is a life half lived.

Life is intentional. Those who make their choices are those who live the fullest.
