Feeling Thurs

The best way to learn the Runes is to experience them directly. Here are some execises to help you het to know more of the Thurs Rune. The Thurs power is a tremendous force that has many applications. These exercises will help you uncover several facets of Thurs.

Exercise 1: Slap a wall, board or other hard item. Listen to the sound and feel the sting on impact. (Do not slap so hard as to damage yourself or the “target”. ) The noise, impact and sting are all Thurs.

Exercise 2: Take a piece fo something brittle, such as peanut brittle. Break it so that it shatters. See how the item is irreparably broken, how it would be almost impossible to re-assemble. This is the shattering impact of Thurs.

Another variant is to chop a piece of wood. The axe knocks off shards. Each impact has almost explosive effect where it strikes. This is also Thurs in action.

Substitute Exercises: Take a piece of ice and thrown it against the ground, so that the ice shatters.

Think of the worst pain you have ever endured. This is an aspect of Thurs.

In a campfire or fireplace, watch the way the flames consume the wood. They eat it, destroy it. Any thing burned or burst is an example of Thurs action.
